Jim Jarmusch’s ‘Father Mother Sister Brother’ Is Golden Lion Winner
The 82nd Venice International Film Festival
was held from 27 August to 6 September 2025, at Venice, Lido in Italy.Starting in 1932 in Italy, it is the oldest film festival still running.
American filmmaker Alexander Payne
served as Jury President for the main competition, while Italian actress Emanuela Fanelli hosted the opening and closing ceremonies.
The jury has awarded the Golden Lion for best film to Jim Jarmusch’s “Father Mother Sister Brother,” a triptych of three different families and their dynamics. The Silver Lion for best director went to Benny Safdie for “The Smashing Machine,” while Gaza drama “The Voice of Hind Rajab” was awarded the Grand Jury prize.
