The 98th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), took place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, United States.
It was a big night for Paul Thomas Anderson's
"One Battle After Another," taking home six Oscars, including best picture, best director and adapted screenplay at the 98th Academy Awards. The film also won for Sean Penn for supporting actor, film editing and casting, the first time the category was presented.
"Sinners," which earned a record 16 nominations, won four awards, including Michael B. Jordan for actor in a leading role, Ryan Coogler's original screenplay, his first, original score and cinematography, with Autumn Durald Arkapaw making history as the first woman to win an Oscar in the category.
